The Story of Antidepressants
A gouache-painted storybook designed to help children understand how antidepressants work and why it takes time for them to take effect.
This project was inspired by a ten-year-old boy who struggled with depression and felt frightened by it. It’s also very personal to me—I’ve lived with depression for nearly a decade. My aim was to explain, in a gentle and child-friendly way, how medication supports our brains and why patience and therapy are part of the healing process.
I dedicate this work to everyone close to me who is also fighting this illness. I hope that one day I can publish it and bring a little comfort and light into someone’s life.
